My parents raised me and my two siblings to value faith, curiosity, and hard work. From them I learned that leadership is not measured by titles but defined by responsibility. Growing up on the U.S.–Mexico border, I saw both opportunity and struggle up close. It taught me that progress is not something we wait for but something we build, by creating opportunity where it does not yet exist and by drawing strength from community.

Some people say you have to choose between business or public service, technology or community. I see it differently. The future is a highway, and the only direction worth traveling is progress. Whether building a company, launching a nonprofit, or running for office, my purpose has been the same: to serve, to imagine, and to build.

At the core of my work is one belief: Leadership is faith that lifts, courage that dares, and vision that endures—for the future is built forward. That belief drives everything I do, and it is what I ask of all who walk this path with me. Together, we can create a city, a country, and a world where every generation rises higher still.
